I am an open, empathic and resilient counsellor. I have a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and I am a registered member of BACP.
I am a regular member of a men’s group and a couple’s encounter workshop, both of which meet on a monthly basis.
Life can be a difficult business and often we find ourselves in situations where we feel hurt, lost, angry or simply just confused and unsettled. I think that we, as emotional and interactive humans, need to understand and manage our feelings and this is often extremely hard for us to do successfully, but it is so important because our relationship with ourselves affects every other relationship we have.
It is often a brave decision coming to counselling but in doing so you bring powerful opportunities towards you which can help you to build, or rebuild your future.
How I work
As a warm and friendly counsellor my primary role is to provide a safe non-judgemental haven for you to open up about your concerns. We work together; finding ways in which you can embrace challenges, tackle difficult issues and improve your general well-being.
My approach will give you a ‘toolkit’ that can help stimulate motivation and help you gain more direction in your life. Therefore, in my counselling role, I take a holistic approach to helping my clients understand themselves better and their relationships with those around them, whether it be in a work, social or family setting.
Particular areas of interest
I can counsel across many areas but have found through experience and feed-back from clients that my particular strengths and interest lie in anxiety, depression, relationships of all types, assertiveness / anger management and addictions.
